  1. playing.forkeeps says:

What about asking other people in his family, such as aunts, uncles, grandparents, family friends?

  2. Miss Seen says:

One Yoruba custom that can be done is the “Tasting of the Elements”. The ceremony is done with water, lemon juice, vinegar, hot peppers, and honey.

Tasting each of the these things is supposed to show you both and those that you invited that you are willing to go through all that marriage has to offer. Lemon for the sour times, vinegar for the bitter times, and so on.

Another that you can do is share a “kola nut”. In many African countries kola nuts are seen as symbols of fertility. And a marriage would not be complete with out the bride and grooms family sharing some. I would imagine this part would be done at the reception.

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
